Got to say Josh has been great, I was referred to Critchley Architecture by my builder and they have been so much easier to work with than the initial firm I tried. I was getting ripped off and Josh came and sorted my drawing and then kindly drew up a range of specs for me to get in the items I needed.

Denham Place is for sale with a guide price of £45M and seeing this has given us cause to reminisce!

In 1982, our founder, Martin Critchley, led the Portsmouth-based practice E G Nash & Partners. The practice had the opportunity to work on this historic building, dedicating its efforts to conservation and preservation. Martin received an award for their efforts in this project. Earning recognition for excellence in conservation for Old Resources, New Opportunities.

This site in Portsmouth was a former garage and under-utilised as an inner city space. With the current housing crisis, there was a demand for studio accommodation to appeal to first time buyers, or single-professionals working in the City. We first begun working on this site - which includes the building at the front - over 20 years ago, so it is great to finally see this part of the project being completed.

After 50 years in practice as a Chartered Architect our Founder Martin Critchley has now officially retired! We celebrated last year with all the CAAD team, friends, family and clients. It is day 3 of Martin’s retirement and he has already been in to the office once to say hello, so we don’t think we will get the chance to miss him too much. Martin will also be retained as a consultant to his existing projects and clients.

The CAAD Office will remain open and the team will continue to work in his legacy. We wish Martin all the best in his retirement which is well deserved after such a long and esteemed career.
